Business Development Manager

A $160M+ company that manufactures material handling products and provides services for the retail and distribution industry has an immediate need for a Business Development Manager for their Shop Solutions business. This company absolutely dominates the market and known throughout their industry as having exceptional quality, innovative products, and a phenomenal company culture!

 

The Business Development Manager will focus on growing their Shop Solutions business, developing relationships with both new and existing customers, negotiating contracts, and developing opportunities for new business. Will also focus on National & Regional Accounts independently as well as working with Representative Agencies to access accounts for which they are responsible. Ideally looking for prior experience in retail channels.

 

This is an amazing opportunity to join an outstanding company and sales organization! This job can be based at their Headquarters in North Carolina remotely from a home office, ideally close to a major airport.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Identify new opportunities to develop & strengthen relationships to advance business, opening new markets to enhance sales
  • Drive for results, meeting, or exceeding sales goals
  • Create contract winning proposals for current and prospective clients
  • Management of the sales funnel and consequent monthly revenue forecast
  • Develop and make sales presentations, close sales in a professional and effective manner, including travel as needed
  • Partner with Product Management to ensure business and product strategy is reflected in execution
  • Provide subject matter expertise on shop fittings, staying abreast of current industry knowledge, trends & competitors
  • Act as a company leader

Requirements:

 

  • BS degree in Business, Marketing or related
  • Solid experience in sales and marketing with a proven record of success, having a minimum of 5 years’ experience in retail or companies supplying the retail market
  • Understanding of gross margin and pricing strategies
  • Demonstrated success in B2B sales
  • Excellent relationship development and management skills to build both internal and external relationships, also having exceptional customer skills
  • Ability to lead negotiations including contractual language with the assistance of legal experts
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products or services
  • Must be a self-starter with high integrity, strong work ethic and exceptional people skills
  • Strategic planning to develop and enact long-term growth strategies
  • Proficient in the use of technology, including proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal) as well as an outstanding personality
  • Demonstrated presentation skills as adapted to the audience, speaks clearly & confidently
  • Can use market knowledge to and experience to move prospects through the sales process, uncovering pain, budget, decision makers, obstacles, and value
  • Time management skills
  • Can travel 50% or more
