A global chemicals company has an immediate opening for a Director of Marketing. The core focus of the job is to develop, implement, and monitor the execution of global market strategic plans for several industries. The Director of Marketing is accountable for driving the growth of their respective industries through the execution of the strategic marketing process, utilizing world-class marketing tools and techniques to map, understand, and define action plans to address market trends and opportunities. The Director of Marketing is also responsible for the marketing team, developing, coaching & mentoring the group.
This is a global role and requires a lot of strategic marketing skills within the chemicals industry. This position is viewed as a stepping stone for a future VP role.

Primary Responsibilities:
Will lead a team of 5 direct reports along with a total of 15-20 professionals in the marketing group
Is accountable for the design, development, and execution of the global marketing strategy
Will engage with customers both directly & indirectly through he marketing team to understand current and future needs, buying behaviors, and purchasing criteria
Use marketing strategy processes and tools to derive high quality analysis, segmentation and targeting, scenario generation, business cases, and recommendations
Partner with the Global Pricing Director to develop, execute, and track a segment-based pricing policy
Engage with operational marketing – define targets for business growth and margin optimization for their multiple business segments
Provide direction and input to the integrated business planning process at each stage as required
Provide input and direction to the operations and supply chain leadership, enabling the long-term operating plan to be developed, including capacity requirements and capital investment needs
Requirements:
A minimum of a BS degree in business, engineering, or technology, MS or MBA degree preferred
A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible roles in chemistry or chemical materials industries, with an extensive understanding of their structure and market drivers
Strong understanding of the fundamentals of strategic marketing, innovation, and commercialization of new materials technology
Is adaptable to new markets
Ability to simplify complex messages and convey quickly and succinctly to internal and external stakeholders
Strong influencing and communication skills to engage both internal and external teams to identify opportunities and to execute on them efficiently and effectively
Can work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization
Must have a results-oriented leadership style that is a credible coach, mentor & teacher to all levels within the marketing organization
Able to influence upwards to executive leadership as well as cross-functionally
