An innovative, $1B supplier and manufacturer for the automotive and commercial vehicle markets has an immediate opening for an Electrical Process Engineer. This position is responsible for conceptualizing, analyzing, designing, implementing, and troubleshooting technical concepts which improve production efficiency, the working environment, and ergonomic conditions. It’s also responsible for researching advanced technology which contributes to production efficiency, cost reductions, and a quality product. A core focus is designing, modifying, and developing electrical control systems for process, ensuring all safety and electrical standards are met.
Based at a flagship manufacturing plant, the Electrical Process Engineer will be engaged daily with a lot of robotics and automation and have a tremendous amount of influence. This plant has invested heavily in automation which is crucial to meet production demand. This plant is absolutely booming with business and is positioned well for the future!
Responsibilities:
Will create and develop new designs and processes that are efficient and cost effective
Troubleshoot production processes, equipment, and plant utility problems
Lead the installation of new equipment and modification of existing equipment
Partner with maintenance and production to identify root causes of equipment breakdowns
Develop fixes and/or preventative maintenance procedures to address problems
Research and make recommendations of new technologies that improve efficiency and reduce costs in areas of production and maintenance
Design new control systems
Lead the planning function of engineering projects and activities
Champion the development of control logic programming
Provide technical support as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical degree with a minimum of 3 years of Electrical Process Engineering experience including CNC machining & robotics
Thorough knowledge of machine controls, PLC programming, electronics, and power distribution
Hands-on project management and electrical troubleshooting
Working knowledge of maintenance systems, mechanics, machine design, and CAD
Experience with lean manufacturing/continuous improvement processes
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal along with the ability to work in a team environment
