Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental, Health, & Safety Manager to join our client. The EH&S Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards, and promoting a culture of safety throughout our organization. Responsibilities:
- Safety responsibilities include oversight of First Aid treatment of all employees, Workers Compensation administration, OSHA tracking, wellness, safety training and legal compliance.
- Develop and implement environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure that all safety equipment and procedures are up to date and being used correctly.
- Oversees maintenance of the OSHA log.
- Develop and implement training programs for employees to ensure that they are aware of all safety procedures and policies.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine their causes and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.
- Serves as leader of various safety committees, including General safety Committee and Medical/First Response Team.
- Work with other departments to identify opportunities for waste reduction, pollution prevention, and energy conservation.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all EHS-related activities, including training, inspections, and incidents.
- Environmental responsibilities include maintaining plant environmental compliance related to air emissions, process water discharges to local publicly owned treatment works, surface water discharge, and solid waste disposal.
- Manage the plant Environmental Management system – ISO 14001
- Environmental permit renewals.
- Prepare and submit environmental reporting for quarterly and annual air emissions reports, annual chemical inventory reports, annual toxic release inventory report, and monthly wastewater flow report.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
