Job Opportunity: Regional Account Manager – Electric Mobility

Location: San Francisco / Bay Area – Home Based

 


Join a pioneering organization in the electric mobility sector as a Regional Account Manager. As the commercial representative, you’ll play a crucial role in managing partnerships, specifically with Tesla, contributing to the success of electrification products. This diverse role requires a mix of internal & external task management responsibilities, working with project teams of engineering, finance, legal, etc.… along with driving key relationships within Tesla.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Pipeline Management:
    • Oversee a project pipeline spanning power and signal product segments within Tesla.
    • Lead the sales cycle, from deal origination to contract negotiation, ensuring a targeted product volume and revenue each year.
  2. Sales Leadership:
    • Manage budgets, forecast sales, and report key metrics to senior management.
    • Negotiate contracts and pricing with Tesla, ensuring cost recovery for all incremental material and non-material costs.
  3. Business Development:
    • Identify new business opportunities with Tesla and develop winning strategies.
    • Collaborate with product development teams to prioritize new features that align with Tesla’s needs.
  4. Relationship Building:
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with GSMs and SIEs at Tesla to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Coordinate with internal teams to meet all aspects of Tesla’s needs, including operations, engineering, and quality.
  5. Customer Service Excellence:
    • Provide excellent customer service and support, addressing any issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  6. Industry Insight:
    • Analyze industry trends to stay updated with the latest developments in the electrification products market.
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the automotive industry, including the competitive landscape and regulatory environment.

Required Skills:

  • Sales and Business Development: Strong background in sales and business development, preferably with experience in the automotive industry and electrification products. Experience with or at Tesla is preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience: 7-10 years of automotive industry work experience, including managing partnerships with OEMs and Tier 1 Accounts. Experience with Tesla is preferred.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical.
  • Industry Understanding: Strong understanding of the automotive OEM landscape.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of successful negotiation with both 3rd parties and cross-functionally within a large business structure.
  • Drive and Passion: Passion, energy, and drive to develop and grow multi-million-dollar business programs globally.
  • Business Acumen: Exceptional business development and partnership management track record. Strong command of business and financial modeling.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
