VP Operations
An innovative global leader in capital equipment manufacturing is looking for a VP of Operations to oversee a large corporate & manufacturing campus with annual revenue approaching $500M. The VP is responsible for all site operations which include manufacturing, production planning, shipping, logistics, safety, continuous improvement, manufacturing engineering, and quality to meet business goals and objectives supporting the company’s strategy.
This Operations Leader will work across all manufacturing functions, establish a clear growth strategy, accelerating both growth and performance to create a world class organization.
This organization is a major division of a $7B+ corporation. Their business is highly profitable with increasing year-over-year growth.
Candidates must be strong in both commercial and operations as this role is viewed as a potential General Manager is a few years. This VP of Operations offers significant visibility at the division level as well as the parent company.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership for the campus, partnering with executive leadership to establish and implement long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies
Lead and manage all daily business activities at the site to ensure overall business results, on-time delivery and best in class service and quality to customers and partners
Change agent to influence culture and drive initiatives that are being executed in the business
Responsible for manufacturing operations for the business unit including all aspects of budgets associated with the business
Review and analyze financial statements to understand their impact on the business
Leads the commitment and implementation of continuous improvement projects utilizing lean manufacturing tools
Ensure on time delivery of quality product and services ranging from sourced products to manufactured products
Provide clear and timely update and response to executive leadership and distribution partners for status of business, order build, and delivery
Drive best-in-class safety across the organization with a goal of zero accidents
Overall direction of production including efficient use of manufacturing equipment, materials, and personnel required to build product
Ensure all employees are properly trained and have sufficient documentation, instruction, supervision, and tools to do their job
Maintain and build positive employee engagement
Requirements:
BS in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or other Technical Discipline, MS or MBA preferred
Preferred experience in a multi-national, industrial or capital equipment related company
Has had full P&L responsibility in excess of $400M
Extremely strong operations and commercial background
At least 10+ years of managing and leading people
A Six Sigma Black Belt and/or Lean Certification a plus
Demonstrated ability to understand, analyze, and manage the profitability of a large manufacturing division under a P&L structure, including the ability to present results, priorities, and actions, and to engage the work team to achieve those priorities
Proven successful leadership in driving performance through lean and continuous improvement methodology utilizing visual management systems, metrics, and employee engagement
Can work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization
Must have a results-oriented leadership style with strong influencing skills, is a Systems Thinker – ability to see and understand the overall picture
Exceptional business acumen
Ability to sell ideas and concepts while also challenging other regarding processes
